The chapter will introduce the relationship of Multi-door control panel, All-in-one Controller and Proximity Reader in the access control architecture and provide customers with the most basic concept of SOYAL access control system structure

The hierarchical relationship in the access control structure is: Multi-door Control panel > All-in-one Controller > Proximity Reader

1.   Multi-door Controller

When do we shall use Multi-door control panel?

In the state where multiple doors need to be managed at the same time, Multi-door controller can connect many controllers or readers for centralized access management, which is convenient for the construction and maintenance of large-scale access control system.

The credential card or password should be read via all-in one controller reader or proximity reader and send to multi-door controller, then multi-door controller will determine the person identification and whether to release the door lock (All-in one controller will be RS485 slave reader mode when connected under Multi-door controller).

SOYAL provide two models of multi-door controller: 16 doors control panel or 2 doors control panel:

• 16 Doors Control Panel
The 16-door network controller AR-716-E16 has two ways to connect the controller or reader:
-Connect 16 controllers via 2 RS485 channels, each channel of CH1 or CH2 can connect up to 8 controller readers
-Connect 14 controllers through 2 RS485 channels and connect 2 proximity WG readers via WG port0 and WG port1.

• 2 Doors Control Panel

The 2-doors control panel AR-716-E02 can connect 2 readers via Wiegand port, and be able to connect under 16-door network control panel AR-716-E16 through RS485 port.

2.   All-in-one Controller (including RFID card reading, user data management and control functions)

When All-in-one controller is not connected to Multi-door control panel, it still can independently read and judge the person identification and control door lock. When the person passes the identity recognition, All-in one controller can immediately control door lock to open. Otherwise, the door lock will be not opened. 
In access control system structure, All-in one controller can be connected under Multi-door control panel and can also be connected with proximity reader.

SOYAL's all-in one controllers can be divided into Home version (H series) controller and Enterprise version (E series) controller according to their functions:

• When to choose a Home version (H series) controller?

(1) It is suitable for basic access control system and mainly recommended as standalone mode with competitive price.
(2) User capacity: 1,024 or 3,000
(3) Credential method (Access Mode):

• When to choose an Enterprise version (E series) controller?

(1) It is suitable for advanced network access control system. It can be operated as standalone mode and networking mode with built-in TCP/IP communication interface, which can be directly connected to computer through HUB.
(2) User capacity: 16,000 /64 floors (default); 32,000 /32 floors; 65,000 /16 floors
(3) Credential method (Access Mode):

(4) RFID frequency: Support 125Khz, 13.56Mhz or dual frequency (125Khz+13.56Mhz)

(6) Built-in UART expansion interface, which can be integrated with lift controller, I/O module, Line printer, voice module and etc.

3.   Proximity Reader (Excluding user data management and control functions)

Proximity Reader can transmit the received identification data (such as card, password, QR Code, etc.) to the controller through Wiegand communication, and the controller will judge the data is valid or not.
