1.Basic Introduction

There are two methods for connecting an external doorbell to the card reader, depending on whether the card reader includes a dedicated doorbell button:

  • Home Series (H Series)

For the H Series card readers, the AR-757-H is equipped with a doorbell button. This allows direct use of the built-in doorbell button or configuration of the "#" key as a doorbell output function.
For other H Series models without a doorbell button, the "#" key can be enabled to serve as the doorbell output function.

  • Enterprise Series (E Series)

For the E Series card readers, models like AR-837-E, AR-837-EE, AR-837-EF9DO, AR-837-EA, AR-837-EL, and AR-837-ER are equipped with doorbell buttons, allowing direct use of the controller’s doorbell button or enabling the "#" key for doorbell output functionality.
Models such as AR-327-E, and AR-727-E  do not have a doorbell button and require enabling the "#" key as the doorbell output function.

Below are the wiring and configuration methods for using the doorbell button and enabling the "#" key as the doorbell output function:

Methods Use the built-in doorbell button on the controller  Activate the # key as a doorbell output function
